Behind Every Great Politician is a Great Team

“The art of leadership is saying no, not yes. It is very easy to say yes.”- Tony Blair

Politicians have some of the hardest jobs in the world. They need to represent their people while expressing innovative solutions to world problems and trying not to make too many people upset. Although politicians themselves communicate the ideas, it takes a great team to develop proper political speeches, legislation and solutions to major problems.

The Great Team Blair

This week’s team bonding quote comes from Tony Blair. Blair served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1997 to 2007. He represented the British Labour Party and led his country through struggles like the War on Terror and foreign policy ventures with Northern Ireland. His administration coined the term “New Labour” Party in the UK in order to distance themselves from previous Labour Party ideas and policies.

One of Blair’s main concepts was “social-ism” – individuals that are socially independent with equal worth and equal opportunity. He backed the foreign policy of US President Bush and participated in the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan and the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

But, politicians need a great team to achieve anything. They work with others to develop ideas and gauge reactions from citizens and individuals across the globe. Politicians work to better the community and better the world. People have high expectations and without criticism and new ideas, thinking and progression would not be possible.
