In this insider’s guide, I’ll share my favorite team building ideas in Atlanta, plus my favorite spots around the city. Keep reading to find the perfect way to improve morale, cohesion, and communication skills for your team!
Best Team Building Ideas In Atlanta
When it comes to team building, Atlanta, GA, is always a hit. It’s home to a thriving community of consulting, banking, and insurance companies, plus businesses from almost any other industry you can think of. And teams love it here.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or a longtime Atlanta resident, I’m confident you’ll have fun with everything on this list. These are the ATL team building activities that wow teams time and time again, and they’re all on my must-experience list.
1. Little Team Library
Team size: 15-100
Time needed: 2 hours
Ideal for: Collaboration and promoting community impact
The spirit of giving runs deep in Atlanta, and the Little Team Library program lets you and your team get involved! By building and decorating Little Free Libraries, you’re expanding book access, inspiring readers, and building community around Atlanta, GA.
This program is close to my heart, and I’ve experienced some beautiful things while facilitating it. In one heartwarming moment, a participant painted a library in the pattern of her late son’s favorite design. It was a beautiful tribute to his memory, and it made sure his essence could live on, serving the community for years to come.
2. Charity Bike Build
Team size: 15-1,000
Time needed: 1-2 hours
Ideal for: Corporate social responsibility and friendly competition
The Charity Bike Build is one of my favorite team building activities in Atlanta, GA, because it makes such a big impact. With this one, teams get to assemble bicycles to donate to local children’s organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.
There’s something so special about delivering bikes to kids who wouldn’t otherwise get them—making an impact on a local level like that can leave almost anyone speechless. With so many corporate volunteer activities, Atlanta makes it easy to give back, and this is a wonderful way to do it.
3. Salsa Showdown
Team size: 16-500
Time needed: 1.5-2.5 hours
Ideal for: Happy hour, break time during corporate events, and team bonding
Atlanta is known for its vibrant food scene, and I can think of no better place for a Salsa Showdown. This event always brings out creativity and laughter, and it’s a great nod to the city’s Latin influence!
Your team will compete in salsa-making challenges while creating unique salsas and aprons. In the end, there’s a fun judging round before everyone gets to dig into the delicious fruits of their labor.
After the event, consider hitting up Alma Cocina for some delicious beer and food.
4. Amazing Race
Team size: 10+ (unlimited)
Time needed: 2-2.5 hours
Ideal for: Team development and friendly competition
The Amazing Race Scavenger Hunt has proven time and time again to be one of the most exciting team building activities in Atlanta. It’s perfect for small or large groups looking for teamwork challenges and some healthy competition.
Your team members will get to race through some of Atlanta’s most iconic locations—Piedmont Park or Centennial Olympic Park, for example—while testing their problem-solving and communication abilities.
5. Corporate Film Festival
Team size: 12-120+
Time needed: 2.5-3 hours
Ideal for: Creativity, storytelling, and project management skills
As the Hollywood of the South, Atlanta is the perfect backdrop for the Corporate Film Festival program. Your teams can tap into the city’s rich film industry and create short films while improving their creativity and teamwork skills.
Everyone can get involved with tasks ranging from scriptwriting to acting and beyond, and no one needs to be a pro. We’ll also bring props and costumes to help your teams make the final product a masterpiece while having tons of fun.
6. Quickfire Olympics
Team size: 8+ (unlimited)
Time needed: 20 minutes-2 hours
Ideal for: Strategy, teamwork, and friendly competition
Embrace Atlanta’s Olympic legacy with the Quickfire Olympics event—it’s a fun activity that’ll bring your team together through a series of fun, fast-paced challenges. Everyone will have the chance to get into the city’s spirit of sport and competition, and they don’t need athletic ability to do it!
The challenges are lighthearted and designed to build camaraderie while teaching team members to work better under pressure. And it’s all delivered with a healthy dose of laughter to keep everyone’s spirits up!
Consider hosting this at Freedom Park or Peachtree Park to get out in nature while you have fun.
7. Music Activities

Favorite Local Restaurant for Post-Event Hangouts
If I had to pick a single restaurant for teams to have events or hang out after team building in Atlanta, it’d be Oaxaca. It’s a newer spot that opened up in 2023 here, and it’s dedicated to the best traditional Mexican food I’ve ever had.
Oaxaca has great parking, classy decor, chill music, and a friendly staff. Everything I’ve ordered there has been amazing, too. The shrimp ceviche, ribeye Bonilla sandwich, half chicken, and mole enchiladas are some of my go-to orders.
