Why this event?
This is no traditional Cookie Swap! Before you get to collect your cookies you have to compete to make the best and most creative ones. Work together in teams as you make the cookies from scratch and decorate them all by hand, then sample everyone else’s creations in the giant cookie swap finale. Teamwork never tasted so good!
After dividing the group up, each cookie crew will decide what kind of cookies they want to bake. They must prepare a minimum of 4 varieties, and they can choose from of our recipes or create their own. While the cookies are cooling the teams will strategize on how they would like to decorate their creations from a General Store of beautiful and unique food colors and other edible items. The goal here is to prepare not only great tasting cookies but great looking ones as well.
Each team will then devise a name and logo for their new “Bakery” and package their finished cookies in a box that they have decorated with colorful paper, ribbons and other creative decorative items that can also be found in the General Store. Creating a 60-second commercial spot that the teams will act out adds lots of laughs to an already fun event.
The teams will be judged on: best-tasting cookie, most creative decorations, prettiest packaging and logo, and funniest commercial. After the winning team is announced everyone gets to enjoy of all the cookies and take home at least two dozen delicious treats!
